How to Use Clay Transfer Sheets

Step 1: Prepare your clay
Start by conditioning your clay well and rolling it flat directly on a tile or glass surface.
Make sure it’s firmly attached to the surface by gently pressing with an acrylic roller.

Step 2: Apply the transfer sheet
Place the sheet face down (the printed side touching the clay).
Use your roller to lightly press so the design makes full contact with the clay.

Step 3: Remove the paper backing
Take the tile with your clay slab and hold it under a gentle stream of cool water.
The paper backing will begin to dissolve.
Use your fingertips to softly rub away the remaining paper until the surface feels smooth.
Avoid pressing too hard to keep the design from stretching or distorting.
Blot the surface dry with a paper towel and let the clay air dry completely before cutting or baking.
If you want easier release: you can lightly add corn scratch or baby powder before using your clay cutter.

Step 4: Seal your design
Once baked, apply a sealant to protect the design.
Use UV resin or epoxy for a glossy finish, or a matte varnish for a soft, non-shiny look.

Extra tips:
• Slight color shifts can occur during baking — that’s normal.
• White or light-colored clay gives the clearest, most vibrant result.
